Dallas Mavericks is the Winner

Dallas Mavericks is the Winner - "We were similar to the team that won in Detroit," he says of the nondescript 2004 champion Pistons who upset a Los Angeles Lakers team that had Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. "A team (with players) that had been bounced around, traded, people forgot about them. The Mavericks were his third team this season.

Nowitzki, a 10-time All-Star in his 13th season, is drawn to Cuban's swagger. He was a free agent last summer, but he never seriously considered leaving Dallas, never mind fielding offers from other teams the way James and Chris Bosh did before joining Wade in Miami.

Mark Jackson : Zero Coaching Experience

When Mark Jackson was in the NBA, he was considered one of the best leaders and floor generals in the league and had one of the best basketball IQ’s as well. I have no idea what kind of coach he will be, how much success he will have in the Bay Area, and I wasn’t in the interview room either, but I find it interesting that other top assistants are still available and he was given a head coaching gig without any prior coaching experience.

With the hiring of Jackson, the ESPN basketball analyst and former longtime NBA player with zero coaching experience, Lacob thinks that, unlike with Keith Smart, this past season’s coach, the franchise’s divorce from

Dwyane Wade for Miami's Success

The biggest difference between Dwyane Wade during this NBA Finals and the championship series five years ago — his role as vocal team leader — was evident during Game 3 on Sunday.

On Sunday, amid his 29-point scoring performance, Wade barked orders at LeBron James, forcefully encouraged Chris Bosh and scolded Mario Chalmers.

“Those guys understand,” Wade said. Wade challenged James late in the game on Sunday. Wade struggled at times in the Eastern Conference finals and leaned heavily on James.

“[Wade] does it all the time,” Stevenson said. Entering Game 3, the Heat’s game plan was to attack the rim and draw more fouls than in Games 1 and 2.

Jason Terry Finally Has His Ring

Jason Terry backed up his words throughout the series, and provided steady performance after steady performance off the bench for the Mavericks. Terry finished with a game-high 27 points and showed that shooter's touch he's become known for. Terry, who's known for his accuracy from beyond the arc, used his mid-range game in Game 6, hitting eight of nine shots inside the arc. Terry reintroduced himself to the world in the NBA Finals, showing his personality and versatile game throughout.

Not after Jason Terry sipped champagne in Miami's AmericanAirlines Arena after a spectacular shooting performance that keyed the 105-95 closeout win Sunday night over the Heat. Terry's stroke was pretty sweet, too.

All about Tyson Chandler

Tyson Chandler stepping up to have a monster Game 4 in the middle that set the table for the late-game heroics of Dirk and Jet:

In the first NBA Finals appearance of his 10-year career, Chandler has saved his most ferocious basketball for the Miami Heat’s dynamic duo.     “It was all about effort,” Chandler said. Chandler’s role as rebounder and opportunity scorer around the hoop increased in Game 4 when Haywood couldn’t contribute his usual backup minutes and Nowitzki was ailing. Of course, if the trade had stuck, it could have turned the fortunes of the Thunder and the Mavs. Surely, Chandler wouldn’t be at center for the Mavs. Because if OKC had kept Chandler, chances are they wouldn’t have brought Serge Ibaka into the mix, traded for Kendrick Perkins or re-signed Nick Collison.

The Mavs need Dirk to be Dirk and Jet to be Jet to be themselves. But right now, they also need Chandler to become champions.

Rashard Lewis sleeping with LeBron's girlfriend

Rashard Lewis is being accused of having an affair with Lebron James' girlfriend, Savannah Brinson. Last year it was his mother, Gloria James, not Savannah Brinson, being blamed for James' poor play. "First: Delonte West [and Gloria]. Then: Rashard Lewis [and] LeBron's [James' girlfriend.] Next: Chris Bosh [and LBJ's] Dad?" another fan jokingly tweeted.

Each NBA arena celebrates the beginning of the game with an over-the-top introduction for the home team -- complete with "JumboTron" video productions and aggressive music.  Now, at the height of the NBA season -- the NBA Playoffs -- one would think the NBA headquarters is pulling double-duty trying to concoct bigger storylines with each passing playoff game.

Final NBA Game 4 - Nowitzki delivers fever

Final NBA Game 4 - Nowitzki delivers fever
He floated like a deja vu, this Tuesday at the American Airlines Center. As in Game 2, the Mavs have indeed prevailed in the fourth inning after a fantastic rise in the last quarter. 86-83 victors over the wire, Texans and equalized to 2-2 thanks to a new outbreak in the final minutes, a Dirk Nowitzki yet feverish.
It is certainly far from the legendary Michael Jordan's performance in Game 4 of the Finals 97. Sick all night, vomited in the locker room, the fault not fresh pizza, Michael Jordan was then signed one of the most memorable performances of his career by scoring 38 points to lead Chicago to victory over the Jazz. But after scoring in Game 2, the basket on a layup victory left hand two days after turning his forefinger, Dirk Nowitzki has made it again in Game 4.

Chicago Bulls Profile

The Chicago Bulls are actually the third NBA team to represent the city of Chicago. The first -- first known as the Packers and laster as the Zephyrs -- is now the Washington Wizards. The second, the Stags, folded in 1950.
The third time, it would appear, is the charm.
Three is a significant number for the Bulls for another reason -- led by Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest player in league history, the team "three-peated" as NBA champions twice... in 1991, 1992 and 1993 and again in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

Mavs Game

With its 100-96 loss in Game 5 on Wednesday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder became the 201st team that failed to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win an NBA playoff series.

The 1994-95 Houston Rockets are one of only eight teams to successfully come back and win. Thunder coach Scott Brooks won the world championship playing for Houston the previous season and was a reserve guard with the comeback Rockets, but he was traded on the night of that season’s trade deadline.
